The beautiful stained glass windows in Trinity Cathedral were installed around the same time as the original Duke Ellington sacred concert in 1966. In fact, a rendering of one of the first windows to be installed, the Melczer memorial window (located in the southwest corner of the Cathedral near the baptismal font), was featured on the original program cover (below). The memorial window was also Dean Elmer B. Usher’s favorite window — watch his son, Richard, recount why.
