We are thrilled to welcome special guest conductor Dr. André J. Thomas to Arizona who will make his debut appearance with the Chorale directing ‘A Chorale Christmas,’ December 13-17, 2019.
“Christmas,” says Dr. Thomas, “always represents for me a second chance. The end of the year and it’s a chance to have a little bit of joy before we begin the new one. And I think that’s what people want to feel. And they want to feel the comfort of home.”
Don’t miss this very special holiday event with Dr. André J. Thomas as he brings his dynamic and energetic style to our Christmas concert series! Dr. Thomas is in demand around the world as a guest conductor and clinician with previous engagements including the Berlin Radio Choir, Czech National Symphony, and World Youth Choirs in China, the Philippines, and in Europe.
Dr. Thomas has also distinguished himself as a composer and arranger and his music has been performed by choirs around the world, including the Phoenix Chorale. He was recently appointed Visiting Professor of Choral Conducting and Interim Conductor of Yale Camerata following his retirement as Director of Choral Activities and Professor of Choral Music Education at Florida State University. He currently serves on the board of directors for ACDA and has also served as artistic director of the Tallahassee Community Chorus since 1988.
