Artistic & Outreach Internship
2019/20 SEASON (September 2019 – MAY 2020)

The Phoenix Chorale is seeking an Artistic & Outreach Internship for the 2019/20 Season.

As Artistic & Outreach Intern for the Phoenix Chorale, you will gain a broad range of experience in areas of rehearsal techniques and process, nonprofit performing arts, professional choir operations, concert production, outreach and special event coordination, and other special projects as assigned. The primary focus of this internship is to provide organizational support to the artistic staff at rehearsals, concerts, and outreach events throughout the 2019/20 Season.

This position reports to the Assistant Conductor & Outreach Coordinator. Ideal candidates for this internship include college students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in areas such as Choral Music, Voice Performance, or Music Education.

The Phoenix Chorale is Arizona’s GRAMMY-winning a cappella choir. Along with local concert presentations each season across the Phoenix-metro area, the Phoenix Chorale can be heard on radio stations around the world. Phoenix Chorale rehearsals take place at Trinity Cathedral, located on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix (100 West Roosevelt Street, Phoenix).

Knowledge, skills and experience preferred:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Choral experience, music performance, conducting, and concert production experience a plus

Internship Details: This internship includes all rehearsals and concerts in the 2019/20 Season (click here to see full schedule), along with the following special events: Boys to Men (Nov. 2), Beer Choir PHX (Dec. 7), Valley Sing (Feb. 22), Songfest (Apr. 4), and other dates as assigned. This is a volunteer position with a stipend of $1600 for the 2019/20 Season. A commitment of participation in the full rehearsal and concert schedule is required. This internship may satisfy requirements for earning college credit. Qualified applicants for the 2019/20 Season may now apply.
