Members of Phoenix Chorale will be joining forces with members of the Los Angeles-based vocal ensemble Tonality to perform at ASU Gammage for Kronos Quartet’s presentation of a new work by Michael Abels and Nikky Finney.
‘AT WAR WITH OURSELVES – 400 YEARS OF YOU’, composed by Phoenix Boy’s Choir alum Michael Abels and set to the poetry of National Book Award Winner Nikky Finney, is an evening-long oratorio that condenses four centuries of Black American history into 14 couplets.
The work makes its Arizona premiere Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 7pm at ASU Gammage.
