JOSHUA HILLMANN is in his seventeenth season with the Chorale and has enjoyed entertaining audiences with his energetic and colorful musical interpretations and outstanding technical ability for decades as both a solo and collaborative artist. His unique and diverse experiences have helped him win many awards as a pianist, including “Most Outstanding Arizona Pianist” at the 4th USASU Bösendorfer International Piano Competition.
Joshua has also collaborated with many professional choirs and ensembles as either singer or pianist, including Grammy-nominated Seraphic Fire, Grammy-nominated True Concord: Voices and Orchestra, Anúna, Spire Chamber Ensemble, and Grammy-winning Kansas City Chorale. He’s also been a featured soloist with The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Bach Festival, Anúna, and with ensembles and choirs at ASU and KU.
Joshua teaches private and group piano at Grand Canyon University, is the Worship Pianist at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, and teaches piano privately at Hillmann Piano Studio, LLC in North Phoenix. Joshua holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance, both from ASU, and he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance on a full music scholarship at the University of Kansas.
