– and get into the holiday spirit!

(Phoenix, AZ) – The Grammy Award-winning Phoenix Chorale hosts a free open rehearsal during the First Friday Artwalk on Friday, December 3 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The musical selections for the “Home for the Holidays” concerts will feature a well-rounded balance of holiday favorites mixed with new and traditional works including two American premieres by English composer Cecilia McDowall titled Cantate, Astra and Of a Rose, Christmas carols from the Colonial American period, Johannes Brahms’s motet Es ist das Heil uns kommen her [The Son of God Is Come to Earth], Kirke Mechem’s Seven Joys of Christmas and more. The open rehearsal will feature some – but not all – of these pieces.

First Friday Free Open Rehearsals offer an opportunity for the public to hear music in the making as the Phoenix Chorale prepares for the next concert series in the Phoenix Chorale season.
